Design Guideline for Microfluidic Side Connect
This work was supported by the Microfluidic Consortium and the MFManufacturing project, co-funded by grants from the UK, France and the Netherlands and the ENIAC / ECSEL Joint Undertaking.
The goal of this document is to provide guidelines for microfluidic devices having fluidic access point on the side of the device.
Based on the available solutions and MFM standard guidelines summarized in the earlier MFM whitepapers the following topics are here proposed for standard guidelines:
a) Side connect definitions.
b) Side width and exclusion zone.
c) Port pitch and size.
d) Layer thickness.
e) Use of classifications.
f) Tube compatibility.
